Noryl

You are here: Home \ Noryl

Noryl modified PPO (Polyphenylene Oxide – Styrene) is an alloy of PPO and styrene. Due to its inherent chemical composition, Noryl® exhibits unusually low moisture absorption, providing excellent insulating properties and dimensional stability over a wide range of humidity and temperature.

Noryl has good electrical insulating properties and long-term dimensional stability due to low moisture absorption. It also has superior impact strength, is light-weight, and is hydrolytically stable. It may be used continuously at temperatures in excess of 104°C(220°F). For enhanced mechanical and thermal performance, glass fiber reinforcement may be added to Noryl.

Because of its alloy matrix composition, Noryl is also one of the few non-metallic materials which can be readily electroplated (after an electroless plating surface has been applied using a selective etching process).
